Yes. Most OTs fabricate thermoplastic splints during your first appointment. The process takes 30 to 45 minutes. The OT heats the thermoplastic material, moulds it directly onto your hand, and adjusts the fit before you leave. Complex dynamic splints may require a second visit for final adjustments.
