Is Developmental Coordination Disorder the same as dyspraxia?

DCD is the current clinical term used in the DSM-5. Dyspraxia is an older term that some practitioners and parents still use. They describe the same core difficulty: the brain struggles to plan, coordinate, and execute motor movements. Your OT may use either term, but the assessment and treatment approach remains identical.
